The premise of this evening is that our protagonist -- a charming entertainer and a great monologist -- is  presenting three characters sketches –two comic, the final one dramatic.

However, during the course of the evening, as she chats with the audience while changing costumes etc., it is revealed that this performer is haunted by a secret which is propelling the evening’s event/performance. -- As she and the audience get to know one another, she finds the wherewithal to reveal her bizarre experience.

As in all Ms. Wright's work, the boundary between audience and performer is sometimes swept aside. "Animal Instincts!" advertises 'Special Guests'.  In the first five minutes of the show – she will 'cast' three 'roles' from audience members who volunteer to aid & abet her in this endeavor.

On the surface "Animal Instincts!…" is a comedy. On a deeper level it is a comedy about fear, brutality, & denial which peers into the darkness where we sometimes witness the divine.
